The friendship and geological cooperation of Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) and Equinor Russia AS have more then fifteen-years history. Russian Basins Research cooperation is a continuation of collaboration between Lomonosov MSU, University of Tromsø (UiTø) and Statoil Russia AS, which started in 2004. Our team of young and experienced scientists made a lot during these years. We studied and estimated prospects of different basins (onshore and offshore, from south to north and from west to east of Russia). Last years (2017-2020), the collaboration focused on the onshore basins (Fig.1). The Basins evaluation included a stratigraphic (Pre-Cambrian, Palaeozoic and Mesozoic), structural, petroleum geological and geochemical analysis in the Pre-Caspian, Volga-Ural, Timan-Pechora, West Siberia and East Siberia basins. Geologists of different specialisations were involved to cooperation – regional geologists, lithologists, geochemists, hydrogeologists and so on… In 2020 we have many young, ambitious and clever newcomers. And MSU Basin Research cooperation students team worked on oil and gas geology problems of four basins: Volgo-Ural (pre-Cambrian petroleum systems), West Siberia (accumulations in pre-Jurassic complex), Enisey-Khatanga (structural reconstructions, petroleum systems) and East Siberia (structural reconstructions, reservoirs, petroleum systems).
