Аннотация:Ce2IrGe3 is a novel compound that crystallizes with an ordered variant of the AlB2-type structure. It orders ferromagnetically at TC = 4 K, as inferred from our low-temperature magnetization, heat capacity and electrical resistivity measurements. Unexpectedly, the dynamic magnetic susceptibility and the isothermal magnetization show also spin-glass-like characteristics. At high temperatures, the magnetic susceptibility follows Curie-Weiss law with the magnetic moment close to that expected for Ce+3 ions. Large negative Weiss temperature, enhanced low-temperature C/T ratio and logarithmic T-dependence of the electrical resistivity hint at the importance of strong electronic correlations.
