Аннотация:The Seventh International Congress of Arctic Social Sciences (ICASS) was hosted
by the University of Akureyri, Iceland, and organized by the International Arctic
Social Sciences Association (IASSA). As the largest polar social science conference
so far, it brought together more than 400 participants from 23 countries and was
even featured on National Geographic news.
This conference included a range of thematic sessions covering the breadth of
polar social science research and also two plenary discussions, fi lm screenings and
a number of special sessions. The latter included the launch of The Polar Journal,
discussions of the IASC Social and Human Sciences Working Group and an open
information session on the third and final 2012 IPY conference in Montréal, “From
Knowledge to Action”
