Аннотация:Within the framework of the method suggested previously for the study of the character of devel-opment of instability of anomalously stratified viscoelastic geomasses based on the study of stability andinstability of anomalously stratified elastic systems of comparison, the sufficient conditions of stability in thepresence of compressibility of geomaterial are examined. The rigorous bounds for the value of shear stiffnessthat provides stability depending on the extent of anomality of stratification (with regard for geomaterial com-pressibility) and the sizes of a domain occupied by the geomass are obtained. The obtained bounds are com-pared with real values of the parameters of geomasses in the upper layers of the Earth.
