Аннотация:The paper examines a little-studied chapter in thehistory of Russian radiochemistry, namely theinvolvement of the Laboratory of Organic andAnalytical Chemistry of Moscow University inresearch on radioactivity between 1900 and 1917.Particular attention is paid to the scientific programof N. D. Zelinsky, the experimental work carriedout by his collaborators, and the continuity of thesestudies during the period when the laboratory washeaded by V. V. Chelintsev. Special emphasis is placedon an analysis of the biography and scientific activityof A. P. Snesarev as a key figure linking chemical andphysical radiological research at Moscow University. It is demonstrated that the contribution of the organicchemistry laboratory to the study of radioactivephenomena was more significant than is commonlyacknowledged in the historiography.
