Аннотация:This paper considers the model of a quantum well constructed on the basis of graphene on a substrategenerating a mass gap. The situation where the substrate structure has a defect and the graphene structure remains ideal is analyzed. Such a defect provides spatial inhomogeneity for the mass gap. It is shown that mass gap inhomogeneity leads to the appearance of a quantum well for both electron and hole excitations. On the basis of the two-dimensional Dirac field model, localized electron and hole states are investigated, and their wave functions and energy spectrum are obtained. Various quantum wells obtained on the basis of inhomogeneities of different size and shape are studied. A nontrivial dependence on well parameters is shown for the energy spectrum of localized states.
