Аннотация:The cross-cultural approach entails the rejection of the priority of one's own traditions, thereby focusing on the comparison of value systems and cultural characteristics among representatives of different cultures. This article undertakes an examination of the didactic potential of this approach, employing Chinese students' work in the course "Russian Realities" as a case study. The analysed material demonstrates the influence of cultural context on the interpretation of well-known stories and reveals both universal and unique aspects of worldview. A significant focus is placed on the cultivation of sociocultural and communicative skills among Chinese students.
