Аннотация:This article presents an assessment of changes in heavy metal(HM) content within the bottom sediments of Lake Imandra. The study focuseson the concentration of pollutants with priority significance in terms of ecologicaland industrial risks. To determine the temporal changes in HM content, three layers of the lake’s sediment column (surface, middle, and bottom) wereexamined. The overall pollution level was calculated for the surface and middlelayers. The analysis results reveal that the concentrations of nickel and copper inthe lake sediments have significantly increased compared to background levels, indicating a high level of contamination. The severe pollution of the bottomsediments with HMs necessitates restricting the movement of toxic HMs fromthe sediments into the water column.
