The remote robotics education approach, its benefits and difficulties, and the review of distance accessed robotics training groundстатьяЭлектронная публикация
Аннотация:The inclusion of robotics as a part of practical educational processes in schools, high schools and Universities has represented in recent years an innovative mechanism that improves the teaching of science , technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), programming and development of control software. Educational robotics can be found in a variety of concepts, shapes and constructions including self-driving cars, humanoid robots, manipulators and other specific constructions. Important to mention that to study robotics, it is necessary to use a special equipment for an extended time period. The access to this equipment for students is often limited because of its high cost and lack of specific setups in a particular educational institution. Students from remote regions of large countries, like Russia, often do not have access to educational equipment at all and are deprived of practical opportunities to study robotics. In the beginning of 2020 the practical educational process was actually stopped due to epidemic situation in many countries. Distance education and competitions are the new challenges of modern educational robotics. The COVID-19 has created new rules for all education systems especially for working with real equipment like robots. As simulation systems can't give experience of working with real robots to students. Distance accessed robotics training grounds provides abilities to use Robot Operating System skills in collaboration with team members from different cities participating in controlling exoplanetary rover rescue mission competition.
