Аннотация:This article explores the application of a cluster approach in teaching theoretical disciplines to students of linguistics. The cluster approach is a method that allows for the classification of linguistic phenomena based on common characteristics, and is useful for understanding the underlying structures of language. The article presents examples of how this approach can be used in theoretical linguistics. The aim of the work is to develop a cluster scheme that would represent an ordered system of theoretical linguistic disciplines and show the connections between them. The study participants were linguistics students and professors of theoretical linguistic disciplines. The material of the study was the disciplines’ programs of the “Linguistics” major at MISIS. The authors argue that the cluster approach can provide students with a deeper understanding of the complex nature of language, and can enable them to develop more advanced analytical skills. According to the survey professors and students had different opinions about how useful this scheme is for the first-year students. The students and the professors noted that the cluster scheme was an excellent tool for systematization and ordering of information, helping them to better understand how different elements of the discipline were interconnected.
