Аннотация:The paper identifies core challenges facing Vietnam’s healthcare system at the present stage. The government tries to solve these problems through technological optimization of the industry and its rational administration without a radical restructuring of the existing system. The authors particularly pay attention to the main components and directions of MedTech market development, key growth factors, and possible risks up to 2030. Using fact findings methodology and generalization of practice outcome, the qualitative analysis, together with the processing of legal documents, helps to examine the process of Vietnam’s healthcare system transformation as part of socio-economic development. The authors have found this process quite successful, although it is not yet fast enough and experiencing objective difficulties. Among them, given the inability to finance this industry fully, the government actively attracts private businesses and foreign investors. As for practical implications, Vietnam’s growing dependence on foreign technologies and investment poses clear threats to the country. The entrusting to foreign companies the mission of restructuring the technological basis of an entire industry directly affects social well-being, thus putting Vietnam in a vulnerable position. The first approach to examine the development of Vietnam’s MedTech in the paradigm of socio-economic development determines the significance and originality of this study.
