Аннотация:Brown forest soils of the Central Urals have been developing on solifluctional red-brown clays since the Early Holocene. A portion of the fine-earth fraction in these soils is of eolian origin. The variation of soil properties under different tree species located within one watershed is less than that under the trees of one species located in different watersheds. The effect of vegetation on the soil is manifested only within the humus horizon. As a result of tree canopy geometry, the humus horizon is differentiated more strongly under the canopy of lime than under the canopies of spruce and fir
