Аннотация:В статье рассматривается эволюция древнеегипетских представлений о роли культовых изображений богов в контактах с ними от предэллинистического времени до II-I вв. до н.э. Показано постепенное нарастание в восприятии египтян значения переднеазиатского представления о возможности лишить побежденный народ контакта с его божествами при помощи захвата его культовой утвари, а также «переключить» сам этот контакт на победителя. При этом в реминисценциях, бытовавших уже в исламское время, использование в борьбе с врагами культовых предметов, по-видимому, полностью утрачивает свою исходную религиозную специфику и рассматривается как чисто магический прием.
Ivan A. Ladynin. From the Receptacles of Divine to the Magical Aides: The Reception of the Near Eastern Attitude Towards Cult Images in Late and Greco-Roman Egypt.
The paper deals with the evolution of the Ancient Egyptian attitude towards cult effigies as mediators in contacts to gods from the pre-Hellenistic time to the 2nd-1st centuries B.C. One can see that the possibility to deprive a vanquished people of contacts to its gods and to “switch” them on the victor by confiscating the images and the cult inventory of the respective deities, well-attested with the Near Eastern peoples, gradually gained in its importance with the Egyptians during that period. Symptomatically, the reminiscences belonging to the Islamic time seem to perceive the use of cult effigies in the Egyptian struggle with foreign enemies as a purely magical method void of its initial religious specifics.
