Аннотация:The chapter analyzes the psychological and mental characteristics of Chinese students studying in Russian universities, focusing on difficulties of their adaptation to socio-cultural and learning environments. The purpose is to identify those factors that can increase the motivation of Chinese students to study. The authors argue that studying abroad allows young people not only to experience a new profession in high demanded on the global labor-market, or improve their skills, but also to open their minds through understanding another country’s cultural and technical achievements, traditions, mental values, different working, and living standards. This approach is considered as an example of practice in developing training programs for Russian students studying Chinese. The chapter significantly contributes to the growing importance of studying the Chinese language in the Russian educational space and improving the quality of training in this area.DOI: 10.4018/979-8-3693-0433-4.ch017https://www.igi-global.com/chapter/problems-of-social-cultural-and-linguistic-adaptation/330893
