Аннотация:The trapping of Brownian particles wandering among random traps occurs more slowly than is predicted by the von Smoluchowski theory. The slow-down is most pronounced at long times. Quasi-one-dimensional materials seem to be the best candidate for experimental observation of the slow-down. We show that highly infrequent interchain jumps make the kinetics at long times quite different from those obtained on the basis of a purely one-dimensional model. The slow-down may be observed in quasi-one-dimensional materials as intermediate asymptotic behaviour only if the time scale associated with the interchain jumps is long enough.
