Language and Forms of Life: Ludwig Wittgenstein and Charles Darwin
In this study, understanding of language as form of life by Ludwig Wittgenstein is discussed. We show that Witgenstein's concept of isomorphism raises a question about common genetic roots of language and life. We also try to justify significance of this parallel and search for a crossing point between life and language. Modern insights into an information model of living cell and mechanisms of transmembrane information processing and transduction are discussed. Within this context, we propose a novel hypothesis that the basic principles underlying the development of these mechanisms are common with those of language and reflect evolutionary development of language and life.
