- Аннотация: The article studies half-legendary episodes from Western religions narra- tives of the XII–XIII th cc. that tells about the veneration of Christian shrines — a miracle-working image of Virgin Mary, places connected with the life of Christ etc., — by Muslims in the Middle East. The sources mention stories of conversion into Christianity and of martyrdom. The author concludes that the aim of these narratives was to describe harmonious relationship between Chris- tian West and Muslim East according to political needs of the moments — in particular, to the negotiations between Christian and Muslim powers about the future of the Holy Land.
