The role of polymorphic variants of the genes CADM2 and CAMKV in the development of spatial intelligence of individualsстатья

- Аннотация: Spatial abilities - a complex multidimensional set of cognitive skills that a person needs to survive in the environment. These traits are evolutionary adaptive. Spatial abilities are characterized by a moderate degree of heritability (30-50%) and significant variability (Knopik, et al., 2017).In the present study, we conducted the analysis of polymorphic variants - rs17518584, rs139528938, rs11130222 in the genes CADM2 and CAMKV in 312 students aged 17-34 years of different sex and professional direction with the development of spatial abilities by using KASP technology (LGC, Biosearch Technologies). All these genes located on the chromosome 3 and take part in development of nervous system (ect. optimal synaptic plasticity and receptor activity) (Davies et al., 2016). Analysis of the association of the polymorphic locuses was provided with correlation at: sex, professional sphere and psychological correlates (4 tests for space: mechanical reasoning; paper folding; pattern assembly; share rotation, academic performance, test of Raven). Preliminary statistical evaluation by using the distance of Mahalonobis (>95%) revealed 16 respondents with deviations at data of testing, and therefore they were removed from the study (packet program R). So, the group has included 296 people (60 men, 236 women). The results of genotyping were evaluated by using the software PLINK 1.9 package. However, we not observed statistically significant results (p>0.05), which allows us to conclude that polymorphic variants located in these important factors of nervous system are not associated with the development of spatial intelligence in our cohort. Perhaps this is due to the small sample size.
