Аннотация:A set of space images covering the period from 2003 has been used to examine the natural water inflow into Lake Bolshoye Turali for the first time. This lake was formed in a periodically drying detached lagoon of the Caspian Sea after a drop in its water level and exists in severe moisture-deficit conditions. It is established that the lake is nourished by outcropping groundwaters and storm sewage waters inflowing from southern outskirts of the city of Kaspiysk. Three to four main water nourishment types can be identified depending on the precipitation intensity. It is shown that the modern collector–drainage water resources are insufficient for sustainable nourishment of the lake; furthermore, these resources continue to decline amid the increasing evaporating capacity and decreasing moisture budget.
