Аннотация:A method is suggested for preparing TiA and TiL chelates via reaction between as-prepared Ti(OH)(4) with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA, H(4)A) and diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA, H5L). Poorly soluble TiA can also be obtained by reaction between H2TiCl6 and an aqueous solution of M(2)H(2)A (M = Na, NH4). The properties of the isolated TiA differ from those reported for TiA . H2O, although their x-ray patterns are almost identical. This is attributed to intramolecular water decomposition TiA . H2O = Ti(OH)HA. Reaction between TiA and Ba(OH)(2) or BaH(2)A in an aqueous solution, followed by thermal or freeze drying of the product, yields a solid product, which is likely to be the polynuclear chelate BaTiH(2)A(2), as evidenced by our experimental data. The latter decomposes above 700 degrees C to yield fine-particle BaTiO3.
