Аннотация:Introduction. Psychophysiological diagnostics and on-line monitoring of human stressful states (HSS) is an extremely important and socially significant problem that needs to be addressed in various fields of activity, especially, in areas of technology with an increased risk of man-made disasters. The modern trend in applied psychophysiology is characterized by the transition from traditional contact methods of SS testing to distant ones. The study will present a new approach to remote diagnostics of HSS based on the analysis of the THz contribution to the total IR and THz emissions (IR – THz image) from different human face areas.Methods. 38 healthy volunteers (20 men and 18 women), aged from 19 up to 57 years, participated in the experiments. Simultaneous registration of the IR – THz images of the human face (IR/V-T0831С detector, NEC, Japan) and of the HSS indicators were carried under physical stress (squats functional test), emotional stress (electric shock threat), and information stress (arithmetic mental calculations). As the physiological indexes, registered by contact methods, we used spectral structure (rhythms) of electroencephalogram; heart rate (HR), systolic wave amplitude (SWA), galvanic skin response (GSR), respiration rate (RR). The physiological data we analyzed using the Wilcoxon test for paired samples. The results. 1. The original histogram approach to the analysis of both the entire and local IR-THz face images, using the probe method, was developed. 2. The THz signals from the area around eye sockets allows to fix HR. 3. The intensity of THz radiation at the forehead correlates with the SGR amplitude. 4. The extended IR-THz signals enable to discover RR from area near the nose’ wings. An algorithm for the contactless registration of the breathing rhythm was developed. 5. The cluster analysis of THz images permits to classify the tested persons according to changes in the blood supply under stress. In some people stress causes a rush of blood and an increase HR. In other subjects, stress causes a decrease in HR, vasospasm, and a decrease in the intensity of blood circulation. 6. The intraindividual reproducibility of the results, obtained over 20 days periods of time, was confirmed.Conclusions. The intrinsic THz radiation of the face skin, detected by the IR – THz detector at room temperature, allows real-time recording of images that can be processed using the developed mathematical algorithm to obtain information about physiological indexes of human SS.Additional information.
