Аннотация:Continuous non-contact non-destructive high-resolution (0,2-2 mm) thermal profiling of all full-size core samples along a well is a basis of thermal core logging as a new technique for rock formation studies. The technique was established to be high informative for the Bazhen formation investigations for solution of problems of prospecting, exploration and development of hydrocarbon fields. A set of rock thermal properties recorded includes thermal conductivity tensor components (along and perpendicular to the bedding), volumetric heat capacity, thermal anisotropy and thermal heterogeneity coefficients. The approaches were developed to get the following information about well cross-sections from thermal core logging data: (1) detailed profiling total organic carbon, (2) detailed characterization of formation acoustic anisotropy that support the acoustic logging when its data could be unreliable, (3) detailed profiling sonic velocities Vp Vs, (4) assessment of vertical variations in dynamic moduli of rocks, (5) substitution of mechanical core scratching that has serious restrictions for the Bazhen formation because of high sensitivity of the rocks to mechanical influence, (6) high resolution profiling natural radioactivity additionally to the gamma logging and gamma spectrometry. Thermal core logging was implemented to solve mentioned problems in 2014-2016 on 11000 cores from 17 wells from 11 oilfields.
