Аннотация:Results of d.c. magnetization measurements of intermetallic compound CeRuSi2 are reported. The measurements, performed with SQUID magnetometer, were done in the temperature range from 2 to 260 K and in magnetic field up to 50 kOe. Besides magnetic, also transport and heat capacity measurements were carried out.
Both the transport as the heat capacity data show distinct anomaly at about 11 K. The enhanced electron specific heat above 11 K indicates on paramagnetic heavy-fermion-like behavior. In the relation of magnetization on temperature the sharp increase of M was observed at 11 K, suggesting a transition from paramagnetic to ferromagnetic state. However, from the fitting of Curie-Weiss law to the experimental data the negative value of Weiss parameter Theta=-23K was obtained. Also the effective magnetic moment, mu eff = 1,33 Bohr magneton, is significantly reduced in comparison to that of the free Ce ion. The above facts, indicating a possibility of ferrimagnetic or noncollinear antiferromagnetic ordering, as well as dependences M(H= 0 - 50 kOe) and hysteresis loops will be discussed.
