The Features of Interaction of Collagen and Collagenase Molecules in the Presence of Chromium and Calcium Ions in Solutions by Dynamic Light Scatteringстатья

Аннотация:The pH dependences of the translational diffusion coefficient Dt and hydrodynamic radius Rhin buffer solutions of collagen and collagenase in the presence of calcium, zinc, and chromium ions havebeen studied using the method of dynamic light scattering. An insignificant influence of metal ions on thestudied molecules has been revealed. The time dependences of Dt and Rh in solutions of collagen andcollagenase in the presence of an activator (Ca2+) and tanning agent (Cr3+) are measured, and the rateconstants of protein cleavage are calculated. It has been found that the addition of chromium ions slowsthe collagenolysis process by 70% (or 3.3 times) (k1 = 0.006 min−1), compared to pure solution collagenand collagenase (k1 = 0.02 min−1). In turn, the presence of calcium ions accelerates the reaction by 250%(or 3.5 times) (k1 = 0.07 min−1). However, pre-chromated collagen is less susceptible to biodegradationby activated collagenase (k1 = 0.009 min−1).
