Аннотация:Hydrophobic coatings on cellulosic materials were obtained using triethoxy(octyl)silane
and its dimer, 1,1,3,3-tetraethoxy-1,3-dioctyldisiloxane, as modifi ers. The structures of the
modifi ers were studied. The effi ciency of the use of these modifi ers in producing hydrophobic
coatings was demonstrated. The maximum contact angle of 135° is achieved with a modifi er
content not exceeding 8% and with coating thickness of only 4 μm or less. The modifi ed materials
retain their hydrophobic properties for a long time.
