Аннотация:The structure of Ishtar Terra is described on the basis of a geological structural map. It is shown that Ishtar Terra is a heterogeneous structure. It is probable that to begin with a large tessera uplift was formed during the plastic compression of a large area of the crust. The Fortuna Tessera is one of the monadnocks of this uplift. Then a system of lava plateaus was formed in the Lakshmi region on the western edge of this tessera uplift over a "flock’ of host spots of various sizes on the mantle. The evolution of the area was concluded by the formation of volcanic plains to the north of Ishtar Terra and to the south of Fortuna Tessera, and the formation of a later generation of ridge zones along the edge. -P.Cooke
