Аннотация:Raman spectra of the solid-state phase of deoxyribonucleic acid are measured in a wide frequency range from 7 to 4000 cm(-1). It was found that there is a strong band with a maximum at 26 cm(-1) in the low-frequency region, which is ten times more intense than bands in the mid- and high-frequency ranges. This strong low-frequency band corresponds to vibrations of pairs of complementary nucleic bases. The mid-frequency range (600-1800 cm(-1)) contains a number of sharp lines corresponding to intramolecular modes of nucleic bases.
