Аннотация:The present study was aimed at comparing the morphology of the myocardium of the left ventricle of
Japanese quail (JQ) Coturnix japonica, aged 9–52 weeks. It has been found that the changes in the myocardium of JQs in this age interval are similar to that of the initial stages of aging of the
mammalian myocardium, which confirms the suit ability of this object as a model in the study of age
related and pathological processes in the heart. Common signs of aging have also been identified for the myocardium and retina of JQ.
