Main objective. Reform of the Higher education on biotechnology in Russia and Belarus: development and introduction of standards and curricula on training of bachelors and masters in the Russian and Belorussian higher education institutions in the field of biotechnology taking into account features of the international requirements. Specific goals of the project: - Modernization of educational standards and training programmes for the purpose of introduction of bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the field of biotechnology with use of the elements accepted by EC: ECTS, the concept of «learning outcomes», recommendations about tuning, Quality Assurance and Qualification Frameworks technology, and also Dublin Descriptors. - Development of concepts of training by means of electronic technologies (e-learning) and lifelong learning for additional vocational training for master’s degree in a format of correspondence course. - Strengthening of cooperation between institutes and the enterprises, in view of almost caused and focused on the market of labour the actions for professional retraining and know-how introductions for development of training programmes. - Carrying out the contents of training programmes for bachelors and masters according to standards of the European Commission taking into account the actual requirements focused on the market and know-how from national and international biotechnological industry and economy. - Application of the developed training materials in close connection of day-time and correspondence studies for bachelors and masters in the Biotechnology direction, and also day-time training to other chemical and technological profiles. - Introduction of the modernized training on bachelor’s and master’ degrees for training of biotechnologists at the Russian and Belorussian higher educational institutions, and also the biotechnological enterprises and industry.

- Modernization and development of 6 educational programmes: The bachelor’s programme on Biotechnology, 240 ECTS, in Russian The master’s programme on Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology, 120 ECTS, in Russian The master’s programme on Industrial Biotechnology, 120 ECTS, in Russian The master’s programme on Environmental Biotechnology, 120 ECTS, in Czech and in Russian The master’s programme on Agricultural Biotechnology, 60 or 120 ECTS, in Lithuanian, in English, and in Russian The master’s programme on Medical Biotechnology, 60 ECTS, in Russian and in English. - The database including data about more than 600 enterprises, organizations, firms and other employers of the RF related to biotechnology. - Interactive version of questionnaire for different categories of respondents. - Educational and methodological manual "Reforming of biotechnological education on the basis of the Bologna Process" (in 2 volumes). - 8 textbooks, three of them being bilingual, Russian-English Explanatory Dictionary on Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology and a large package of other methodological materials. - 6 computer laboratories and 6 computer centers in higher education institutions-partners. - Distant training course «Bases of Design and Equipment of Enterprises of Biotechnological Industry» for bachelors in Biotechnology and for masters on profiles «Industrial Biotechnology and Bioengineering». - The distant laboratory on the basis of LabView "Cultivation in the bioreactor". - Samples of new educational standards and educational programmes coordinated more intelligently and comprehended and also closer to the Bologna reforms. In total 27 actions on mobility, the number of mobility flows – 307. - 4 International symposiums (the section Biotechnology and Education) and the German-Russian forum. - 3 summer schools. The materials of the project have been allocated on web sites www.rehaut.ru, www.biorehaut.ru which will be periodically updated in process of further development and dissemination of the project results. The BIOTECH-REHAUT Tempus project contributes significantly to enhancement of quality of higher education for future specialists in biotechnology by offering interdisciplinary programmes and courses in the field of up-to-date various branches of biotechnology and gives springboards for this promotion.
