Action potentials generated in soma of sensory neurons (soma spikes) and axonal spikes generated near receptive fields of these neurons (viscera) have different postsynaptic effects recorded in soma of defensive command neurons of the snails. Sensory stimuli evoke bursts consisted from both soma and axonal spikes but only soma spikes follow by postsynaptic potentials (elenentary EPSPs). The data presented are results of diploma work of Alexei D. Neverov.
