This work surveys the development of inorganic chemistry in Moscow university from establishing the division of inorganic chemistry as part of department of chemistry of the faculty of physics and mathematics in 1875. The important steps of the development of inorganic chemistry through years up to the present days are surveyed, with emphasis given to big names – inorganic chemists that led the division at different periods of our history. The current stage and future prospects of inorganic chemistry at Moscow university are briefly discussed.
