In this work, the pH - sensing properties of water soluble P(V) porphyrin, bearing axial-OH ligands and N-containing meso-pyridyl-substituent ([(MPyP)P(OH)2]+) possesses 4 different fluorescent acid-base forms upon pH change of the medium. Thus, complexes demonstrate a dependence of their emission spectra on pH that makes these compounds promising fluorescent pH-sensors in a wide pH range.
