The speech of Generation Z, who have been raised in the online environment, as a prime example of global linguistic interaction. The paper deals with the problematic issue of the communicative function of substandard vocabulary in youth discourse. The inclusion of the English language in the Slavic context is a complex process that affects various aspects of the language system and cultural identity. A characteristic feature of youth discourse is the variability and constant updating of vocabulary, which serves to implement identification and expressive functions. In testing the hypothesis concerning the convergence of Czech and Russian substandard lexis under the influence of English the processes of borrowing and adaptation were analyzed. It was found that the original spelling form with the closest possible pronunciation to the original chill, old school is easier to perceive, rather than the Czech transcription with the original pronunciation kjůt, lúzr or the Czech word-forming formants fíčura, while even abbreviations (BF, SRY, BTW) do not provide 100% certainty in the exact understanding of the meaning. Substandard vocabulary in youth discourse is not merely a linguistic phenomenon, but also a significant social and cultural indicator, reflecting contemporary changes in language and society. Therefore, further study of this issue may be promising in several directions.
