Microplastics (MPs<5mm) and nanoplastics (NPs<1μm) combine wide range of polymer particles of various chemical compositions, physical properties, shapes and origins. MPs and NPs are now considered as pervasive and persistent pollutants in water systems. A sets of laboratory experiments were conducted to understand the processes of MPs transport and adsorption in aquifers and interaction with rocks.
