The focus of medical chemistry is the search for the new biologically active compounds. Incorporating the biologically active moiety into known pharmacologically active compound is one of the most common ways to design the new drugs. The present work is aimed to study antiradical properties, by cyclic voltammetry and cytotoxic activity by the MTT assay on human colon carcinoma cells (HCT-116) of new platinum (IV) complex based on the oxaliplatin parmacophore and antioxidant phenol moiety. The complex was characterized by NMR, IR and elemental analysis.It was found that the new complex exibit only moderate antioxidant activity. It was shown that the platinum (IV) complex exhibited cytotoxicity comparable to the cytotoxicity of cisplatin with the IC50 value 25,6 μM.
