The report presents some aspects related to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the work of the LANAT STEM Center (Russia). The LANAT STEM Center is a system of motivation, involvement of schoolchildren in research and engineering activities, basic training and preparation of schoolchildren for participation in international competitions. LANAT is the organizer of the Russian national FAIR "Scientists of the Future". The use of AI in education is currently widely discussed. Is it a fad or can AI really help a student or teacher or even replace a teacher? The report demonstrates specific examples of the use of AI in physics teaching. The example of an established system for involving students into research activities shows in which cases AI can really be useful. For example, choosing a topic, setting research goals and ways to achieve the goal, criteria for achieving results. At the same time, it is impossible to say that AI replaces any elements of an existing work system; its use is more like a new convenient tool - the same tool as, for example, a pencil. Other examples (drawing up a curriculum, selecting tasks on a given topic) show where and how we use AI in teaching physics. Our practice shows that any material prepared with the help of AI requires careful study by the teacher before this material is used in the educational process. As a result, the conclusion is made that the teacher should develop the skill of using AI, first of all, in order to perform routine tasks, but nowadays it is not necessary to talk about AI being able to replace the teacher in any form. During the presentation, the creation of a textbook and problem book according to requirements set by the audience using AI in real time will be demonstrated.
