The poster describes the solution to a problem of finding a curve of minimal length with a beginning at (0, 1), end at (1, 0), and a zero value of the integral of XY under the curve. The solution to the problem by the shooting method is complicated due to the instability that occurs due to the system's chaotic nature. Nevertheless, it was possible to obtain a solution to the problem in the form of a polyline. Convergence to the solution is observed both from a single loop of arbitrary size and in the presence of several loops at the beginning. The techniques used in this problem can allow obtaining approximate solutions in more complex optimal control problems.
