This paper summarises and analyses the four main schools of thought on "strategic human resource management" at the academic and theoretical levels: Confucianism, Taoism, Legalism and Military Science. The conceptual differences between these schools of thought are reflected in different aspects. For example, Confucianism believes that the first criterion for evaluating talents is morality and personality. Taoism advocates doing nothing and not interfering too much in the work of subordinates. Justificationism insists on strong discipline and a system of managing subordinates. Militarism advocates the categorisation of talents and emphasises the matching of human resources to portfolios.
