The Republic of the Philippines is one of the rapidly developing countries in the Southeast Asian region. One of the indicators of the dynamic development today is the formation of the space industry. In 2019, the Philippine government, for the first time in the country's history, passed a law establishing the Philippine Space Agency and approved the Philippine Space Development and Exploration Plan, which allowed the Philippines to become the first country in ASEAN where the space program was officially formalized and launched. In embarking on the path of developing a high-tech industry for the country, the Philippines requires the supervision of more experienced partners. Of course, this niche is actively occupied by the United States today. Japan is a key investor in the development and use of nanosatellites and satellite equipment. Russia is also interested in developing bilateral cooperation in the field of space activities with the Philippines. Unfortunately, at the moment we are forced to note some stagnation in building up contacts, due to the difficult geopolitical situation in the world and country specifics. Nevertheless, the Philippines can not only gain access to our unique technological developments, but also demonstrate self-sufficiency in building independent bilateral cooperation in the international arena. However, the prospects for such cooperation depend on the conditions for the presence of a political decision on this issue.
