Laccase is a copper-containing oxidase that catalyzes the reduction of oxygen to water accompanied by the oxidation of a wide variety of phenolic compounds. Laccases have been classified as low-, medium- and high-potential based on equilibrium potentiometric titrations of the type 1 site. The new medium-redox potential laccase from basidiomycete Steccherinum murashkinskyi was isolated, characterized and its 3Dstructure was solved. Some different amino-acid residues, comparing with well-known high-redox potential laccase from basidiomycete Trametes hirsuta, in substrate-binding pocket were observed. pH-dependences and temperature dependence of reaction rates for St.murashkinskyi laccase was studied.
