We present the non-perturbative theory of interaction between a single atom and multicolor laser field having the arbitrary orientation of atomic electron angular momentum with respect to the electromagnetic field polarization vector. This theory is based on the exact solution of boundary value “atom+field” problem. The main advantage of proposed approach is the fact that the spectra of atomic electrons in the final state (after action of laser pulse) at given parameters of laser pulse and atomic energy level diagram can be analytically estimated with great accuracy.
