Verbal neologisms in modern Russian The activization of derivation models in the Russian language, which express actual combinations of meanings in the field of nouns and adjectives has been considered in a number of our articles published in the last decade. In the present report, we would like to examine verbal neologisms, which, it seems, have not been studied as thoroughly as nominal neologisms in Russian linguistics. The present research has involved the General Internet-Corpus of Russian (hereinafter referred to as GICR - http://www.webcorpora.ru/), which includes, among other things, texts of informal communication on the Internet. The study analyses neologisms formed from both Russian and derived stems. The latter represent the most numerous group, especially in the speech of people on the Internet, who use derivations in the sphere of IT. Verbal neologisms are most commonly formed from derived stems with the help of suffixes, with phase and result prefixes being added later on, for example: (like) – лайк-а-ть (lajkat', to like a post on social media) – залайкать (zalajkat', perfective form of lajkat') , отлайкать (otlajkat', to give many “likes”), пролайкать (prolajkat', to “like” all the posts), полайкать (polajkat' to give a few “likes” to someone’s posts); (photoshop) фотошоп-и-ть (fotoshopit', to improve a photo image in a photo editor) – отфотошопить (otfotoshopit', perfective form of fotoshopit'), зафотошопить ( zafotoshopit', to improve a photo probably too much; to correct a major defect in a photo), сфотошопить (sfotoshopit', to create an image using a photo editor), пофотошопить (pofotoshopit', to improve a photo image slightly). GICR has also registered many new prefixal verbs formed from Russian stems or stems derived a long time ago (such as нарасследовать (narassledovat', to investigate (ironical), отрекламировать (otreklamirovat', to be advertised), перекредитовать (perekreditovat', to loan up). As may be supposed, such verbs appeared in colloquial speech before, but now the activity of such models has grown, and they have been registered in written communication. Derivation of impersonal reflexive verbs, formed from delimitatives, which are used in past or future tense forms, also deserves attention (eg. погулялось (pogulyalos', had a nice walk), поработалось (porabotalos', did some good work), поспалось (pospalos', had a good sleep),.
