Аннотация доклада:
We present a differential study of Compton scattering of 40 keV photons at gas-phase helium. Comparing experimental and theoretical cross sections, we find a strong influence of electron-electron correlations in the final state, thus showing the invalidity of the independent-particle approximation in this energy regime.
