This report summarizes the achievements [1] and defines the new directions [2] in the synthetic and supramolecular chemistry of cross-conjugated dienones. We will talk about: •general and unique reactions with nucleophiles; •different faces of coordination chemistry of dienones; •photophysics and electrochemistry of dienones; •photochemistry of dienones.
