The paper is focused on description of archeological textiles found during excavations at the Deir al-Banat necropolis carried out by the Center for Egyptological Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. During seasons 2006-2014 were studied more than 2000 objects of textile kept in the study house of CES RAS in Deir al-Banat and in MSA magazine in Kom-Oushim (Fayum). In the paper I would like to mention the main stages of work with textiles on the field, the conservation process and give brief description of the highlights of the collection dated to the different periods of the Egyptian history since late Pharaonic till Islamic times. The textile analysis shows existence different types of textile among the finds of Deir el-Banat. There are two main chronological groups: Roman and Late Antique/Medieval textiles. Among the Roman stuff the bandages and funereal shrouds are mainly presented. Late Antique and later textiles are mainly represented by coarse funeral shrouds; but they also include more diverse material: dressings, tunics, garments, caps, shawls, hangings, household’s textiles.
