Pitirim Sorokin in his work Social and Cultural Dynamics highlights the long waves of world sociocultural dynamics, the cycle of which spans several centuries. Similar great change took place during the transition from the Middle Ages to Modernity, which was expressed in the transition from symbolism to realism. Earlier - in Antiquity, art, science and philosophy of which were based on realism and rationalism as well as in the modern era. The civilization of mankind will again make the transition to a symbolic, intuitive era. Symbolism will become one of the main attributes of this new era in the world sociocultural dynamics. Sorokin's words today are largely confirmed in our digital society. First of all, this is the creation of virtual reality, return to simbolism, to artificial languages, to digital practices of social reality, in many ways reminiscent of medieval mysticism. Communicating with virtual services, money, interlocutors, we turn to a certain impersonal subject personifying the idea of regulatority in global digital society. The regulators of the digital age are the new gods to whom new symbols will be assigned.
