In this paper porous carbon materials (PCM) were prepared via carbonization (600 – 800 0C) with the excess of active reagent (alkali). As precursors, one used different organic compounds (phenol, 8-oxyquinoline, hydroquinone, PVC and others). Product yield equaled about 30 % of precursor mass. Electrochemical properties (electric capacitance) of prepared samples were studied using cyclic voltammetry technique. For the number of PCM samples with advanced micro-/mesoporosity, the values of specific capacitance obtained in alkaline (6МKOH) and acid (H2SO4) electrolytes fall in the range of 150-660 F/g (capacitance is calculated per mass of single electrode).
