Analytical studies of texture features and phase composition of natural metasomatized diamond-bearing eclogites are carried out. The obtained data indicate that around and within the grain boundaries of the rock-forming minerals of the studied rocks there are numerous irregularly shaped pores with sizes up to 50-100 μm, cracks and veins filled with matter, probably remaining from the primary diamond-forming parent melt: ferrous magnesite (Mg, Fe) CO3 in association with orthopyroxene (Mg, Fe) SiO3 and kyanite Al2SiO5. Physicochemical features of the natural genesis of diamondiferous peridotites and eclogites in the upper-mantle foci of carbonatite parent melts are discussed.
