Neutrophils are polymorphonuclear leukocytes, that provide the primary non-specific immune response. Differentiation of neutrophils occurs in the bone marrow from hematopoietic stem cells via the myeloid way. Mistakes in this process can lead to serious diseases, such as various forms of leukemia. The chromatin remodelling complex SWI/SNF (PBAF) control the transcription of genes and influence differentiation of cells. PBAF complex is also involved in the development of neutrophils from promyelocytes and changes during this process. The aim of this work was to study the subunit composition of PBAF complex and its influence on the expression of genes during the differentiation of human promyelocytes to neutrophils.
