Metallocene catalysts have been one of the most actively investigated research topics for more than 30 years. Studies of various bridged indenyl metallocene complexes, i.e. ansa-metallocenes, have demonstrated that the activity and the stereoselectivity of olefin polymn. reactions can be significantly affected by slight structural variations of the ring substituents in the metallocene catalysts. In this report, synthesis and structure features of chiral ansa-zirconocenes of C2 symmetry bearing N-pyrrolyl, N-indolyl, N-carbazolyl, and P-dibenzophospholyl fragments are described in detail. Influence of this specific substitution on the performance of the resp. catalysts in stereoselective propene polymn. is discussed also.
